TV Review: 9-1-1

TV Review: 9-1-1

9-1-1 is a pretty new show on Sky Witness. It’s currently on series 2 but there’s only 10 episodes a series so nice and easy to catch up on! 9-1-1 is a drama based around the lives of emergency first responders. We say the exciting scenarios they face, how they put their lives on the line and the dramas they have in their own lives too. What makes this show different from the others? Well, I think it’s the representation and being unafraid to deal with some challenging topics. In series 1 we meet Abby (Connie Britton), dealing with loneliness

Luther: the TV show I can’t recommend highly enough

Luther: the TV show I can’t recommend highly enough

If you’re late to the game and still haven’t seen Luther then I’m here to tell you that you absolutely must! And I don’t say that lightly! The fifth series aired on BBC One last week and it did a brilliant job of referencing key characters and storylines from previous series, so I’d encourage you to go back and watch series 1-4 first (they are short series so won’t take too long to do!) What is Luther about? Luther is the story of DCI John Luther portrayed by the fantastic Idris Elba. The detective we instantly loved for his

I’m not impressed by this year’s Christmas Ads. But here are my all time favourites!

I’m not impressed by this year’s Christmas Ads. But here are my all time favourites!

Christmas adverts coming on, along with the Christmas drinks in coffee shops, signals a true beginning of the Christmas season. I love watching these, but this year I was underwhelmed. From the 2018 ads I’ve seen so far I love Kevin the Carrot’s expanding family and particularly the advert pretending to be the Coca-Cola Christmas lorry… I also loved the adorable story of the Heathrow Bears travelling home for Christmas. And I found Very’s ad where the young girl gets an astronaut helmet and goes on to become an astronaut very inspiring! But I don’t think any 2018 ads really

TV Series: Informer

TV Series: Informer

With all of my recent TV recommendations you’d think I only watch the BBC! Although this is far from the truth they have put out another brilliant shows that you really don’t want to miss. This is ‘Informer’. The story revolves around a young man named Raza who is essentially blackmailed into becoming an informant to the police. The issue is, he doesn’t know about anything to inform on. As he gets pushed deeper into finding out about crime gangs and terrorist groups each day gets riskier but he has no way out. The story told in ‘Informer’ is set

TV Review: Killing Eve

TV Review: Killing Eve

By now you’ve hopefully heard of the BBC America Drama ‘Killing Eve’. This short series focuses on the hired killer Villanelle and Security Officer Eve who has been following this mysterious female killer. The dynamic between the two female leads is unlike anything I’ve seen before on TV. Eve has always been obsessed with crime stories and the unsolved patterns her higher ups have missed. When she gets the opportunity to join MI5 and investigate murders she believes to be linked there is no way she would say no. But whilst Eve gets ever nearer so does Villanelle. She takes great

TV Review: Celebrity Hunted for Stand Up To Cancer

TV Review: Celebrity Hunted for Stand Up To Cancer

I became obsessed with the last series of Channel 4’s show Hunted last year. Now it’s back with celebrities, and it’s just as intense but a bit more hilarious. This celebrity version is to raise money for Stand Up To Cancer. 8 celebrities are ‘fugitives’ on the run from the team of ‘Hunters’. The Hunters are professionals whose normal jobs are to track down criminals using their skills and technology to trace and capture the fugitives. If the celebrities last 14 days on the run, outwitting the hunters and evading capture then they win the money for the charity. (The

Review: Bodyguard TV Series

Review: Bodyguard TV Series

You’ve probably heard of the recent TV series ‘Bodyguard’ on the BBC. But just in case you haven’t I wanted to tell you all about it, as it’s one of the best TV series’ I’ve watched this year. It obviously follows a Bodyguard- PC David Budd. He is assigned to look after the Home Secretary. David, ever the professional, takes this immensely seriously, ready to put his life on the line for her whenever required. Despite the fact that she is campaigning for everything he hates. Prior to working for the Police, David fought in Afghanistan. This caused fractures in
